Plans and billing
The app is free forever on every device. A plan buys sync across your devices and sharing with your band; see Compare plans. One plan covers the whole band, bought once by its manager. Bandmates always join free.
Choose a plan
Open Band Hub. On a band you manage that has no plan, the Invite card reads "Choose a plan to invite your band" - choose it there.
- Windows, macOS, Linux, Android: the plan sheet takes you to checkout on bandbinder.com. Founder codes are entered at that checkout.
- iPhone and iPad: the plan is bought in the app through the App Store, yearly, and renews automatically unless you cancel in Settings.
- Any device: sign in at bandbinder.com/billing with the same account you use in the app to see every band you're in and choose a plan for one you manage.
Your band code and the Share invite button appear as soon as the plan is active.
Where you are billed
Where you bought the plan decides who bills you, and the app tells you which.
- Bought on bandbinder.com: billed by Stripe. On Windows, macOS, Linux and Android, Band Hub shows Manage billing on that band, which opens the billing portal. On iPhone and iPad the band shows its plan line only, with no billing controls in the app; manage it at bandbinder.com/billing, which opens the same portal from any device.
- Bought in the iPhone or iPad app: billed by Apple. Band Hub shows Manage subscription on that band, which opens Apple's subscription sheet. On your other devices the band reads "Billed through Apple. Manage it on your iPhone or iPad: Settings > your name > Subscriptions."
A plan reads "Plan provided by BandBinder" when we granted it; there is nothing to manage.
Cancel
Cancel anytime; the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for (the band's line changes from "renews" to "ends").
- bandbinder.com purchase: Manage billing in Band Hub, or bandbinder.com/billing from any device (the only route on iPhone and iPad), then cancel in the portal.
- Apple purchase: Settings > your name > Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad. Deleting your BandBinder account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it first, or Apple keeps billing you.
Restore Purchases (iPhone and iPad)
On the plan sheet. Use it after a reinstall, on a new device, or if a purchase didn't activate: it re-checks your Apple Account's BandBinder subscription with our server and re-attaches it to the BandBinder account you're signed in to. Nothing is charged. If the subscription belongs to a different BandBinder account, the app says so - sign in to that account instead.
If a plan lapses
Your library stays readable and exportable on every device, forever. Sync and band sharing pause, and the band code pauses with them: the Invite card reads "Renew to bring your band code back". Renew from that card (or from bandbinder.com/billing) and everything resumes.
